Where does a city without a traditional main street hold its fall? In Semmes, the City's own calendar for October through December 2026 keeps answering with one address. The Mary G. Montgomery High School campus at 4275 Snow Road North hosts Spookfest, the Fall Festival and the staging area for the Christmas parade. One private farm off Stone Road fills the gap in the middle of the season.
Once you see that pattern, fall in Semmes is much easier to plan. Most of the big public dates happen in the same parking lots, along the same few roads, and they lean heavily on the food trucks that already show up around town.
One campus, three big dates
The City of Semmes events calendar for October 2026 lists Spookfest at Mary G. Montgomery High School on Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11. That's this coming weekend. The City's entry doesn't give hours, an organizer or a program yet. Spookfest has run on this campus in earlier years, but those details changed from year to year. Check the City's page or its Facebook account before you go rather than assuming last year's setup.
A week later, on Sunday, October 18, the campus hosts the free Semmes Fall Festival. WKRG reported that it will include arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, entertainment and costume contests. Then in December, the floats and vehicles for the Semmes Christmas Parade line up in the same school lot at 7 a.m.
| Date | What | Where | Confirmed details |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat.–Sun., Oct. 10–11 | Spookfest | Mary G. Montgomery High School | Date and venue only |
| Tuesdays, Oct. 13, 20, 27 | Food Truck Tuesdays | Check City listing | Dates only |

The table shows the season's high point. The middle weekend of October is the only time two free family events land on back-to-back nights.
October 17 and 18 make the biggest weekend of the fall
On Saturday night, the event moves off campus. Loblolly Farm, a 60-acre venue at 9930 Stone Road that mostly books weddings, parties and corporate events, is hosting a free Family Movie Night. The event page run by OpenTruck lists the schedule: vendors load in at 4:00 p.m., gates open at 5:30, the movie starts at 6:30 and the evening ends at 9:00. Organizers expect about 15 food trucks. They plan to put QR codes on the big screen and on signs around the field, so you can order from your phone and pick up your food without missing the movie. The movie title hadn't been announced when this was written; the page says it will be named once licensing is settled. Organizers suggest bringing blankets and chairs.
Loblolly lists regular hours of Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Those are its normal business hours. They aren't hours for a pumpkin patch or a corn maze, and we didn't find any public fall attraction there this year. Treat the movie night as a one-evening event, not a farm season.
On Sunday, things move back to Snow Road for the Fall Festival. The two sources list slightly different hours. WKRG, citing a City Facebook post, lists 12:15 to 6:15 p.m. Mobile County's listing for its animal-adoption booth at the festival lists noon to 6 p.m. Either way, it's an afternoon event. If you're hoping to meet an adoptable pet, the county booth is the one part of the day with its own posted time.
If you'd rather skip the drive to a pumpkin farm, this weekend covers a lot. It gives you a costume contest, two rounds of food trucks and an outdoor movie, all within a few miles of Moffett Road and all free.
The food trucks tie the season together
Food trucks show up in nearly every event on the list, and that pattern goes beyond the festival weekend. The City's Food Truck Tuesdays page lists dates on October 6, 13, 20 and 27. The October 6 date has passed, which leaves three. The page we could read didn't list a location or hours. Check the City's listing or its Facebook page on the day for the spot and serving times.
The same mobile vendors also make the movie night work, and the Fall Festival lists food trucks right next to its crafts and costume contests. Taken together, food trucks are the closest thing Semmes has to a restaurant row this fall. A family could eat from them on October 13, 17, 18, 20 and 27 without visiting the same setup twice.
For pumpkins and corn mazes, plan a short drive
Since Semmes' own fall events focus on festivals and evenings, a farm outing means leaving town. Two options showed up in local listings for 2026:
- Tanner Williams United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch, Wilmer. The Mob Mom's 2026 fall guide lists it as running October 1 through 31, with pumpkins for sale. Hours and admission were still listed as "to be announced" in the guide.
- Seward Farms, 10836 Tanner Williams Road, Lucedale, Mississippi. The farm's fall page lists a corn maze, hayrides, a cow train and a Pumpkin Barn. It's open to the public on Saturdays only from September 26 through October 31, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the last tickets are sold at 4:30. The A-Maze-ing Pass costs $18 for ages 3 and up, covers everything except pony rides, and children 2 and under get in free.
Seward Farms' ticket page lists a different season, October 3 through November 7. The newer fall page is the better guide, but check before driving across the state line late in the season. Seward is open only on Saturdays, so it competes directly with the Loblolly movie night on October 17. A family could fit both by leaving Lucedale before the 4:30 ticket cutoff and getting back to Stone Road for the 5:30 gates.
December returns to Snow Road, then heads up Wulff Road
The Semmes Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 12, 2026, at 10 a.m., according to the City's 2026 parade application. Groups must submit applications by December 4. The application also shows how the morning is organized:
- Floats and vehicles line up at Mary G. Montgomery High School starting at 7 a.m.
- Marching groups, dance groups and horses gather at the Boys & Girls Club off Wulff Road.
- Floats leave the school at 9 a.m. for the starting point.
- The parade stages on Nursery Road, runs north on Wulff Road to Moffett Road, then heads east to Firetower Road.
If you live near Wulff, Nursery or that stretch of Moffett, that sequence tells you which roads will be busy and when. Traffic will be heavy around the school from early morning and along the route by mid-morning.
The City's Christmas Tree Lighting & Market page describes an all-day market "in the park" with the tree lighting starting at 5 p.m., and says more details are coming soon. No 2026 date or specific park had been posted when this was written.
What's next on Schillinger Road
The latest addition to the city calendar is a construction project, not a festival. In August, Mayor Brandon Van Hook announced that Cock of the Walk would be Semmes' next restaurant. He said site work would start "over the next couple weeks" on Schillinger Road between Moffett Road and Wards Lane, WKRG reported.
A legal notice in The Call News has more detail than the announcement. The notice asked for bids on a "Phase 1 Site Development Package" for the future Semmes Police Station and the Cock of the Walk restaurant together, on a 6.1-acre tract at 3201 Schillinger Road North. Sealed bids were due at Semmes City Hall on July 28, 2026, and bid bonds were to be made payable to the City of Semmes. That means the restaurant and the police station will share a site and were bid out as one site-work package. We haven't found any confirmation that work has started, that a contract was awarded or that an opening date has been set.
Cock of the Walk opened its first restaurant in Natchez, Mississippi, in April 1977. Three couples founded it as a catfish restaurant. The company's current list of full-service locations includes Jackson and Pocahontas, Mississippi, and nothing near Mobile. When the Schillinger Road location opens, it will be the brand's closest sit-down restaurant to Semmes.
For now, most of Semmes' fall still happens at the Snow Road campus. Festival day is October 18, the movie night at Loblolly is the night before, and the parade floats line up in the same school lot on December 12.
